Life skills training and a structured daily rhythm built into treatment — practical tools for the life you're rebuilding, not just the days you're here.
Comprehensive discharge planning with outpatient referrals, MAT continuity, referrals to community support groups, and relapse-prevention planning — starting on day one, not the last day.
The first day at a recovery center is the day patients are most anxious about — and the day most providers explain the least. Here's what to expect at Hickory Grove.
A nurse and the staff on shift meet you, confirm your arrival details, walk you through campus-specific consents, and answer any questions you have about the campus, the program, or what comes next.
You receive a medical evaluation — vitals, withdrawal assessment, medication review, and any medical concerns addressed. If you need detox, it begins here, under twenty-four-hour nursing care with physician oversight. You're shown to your room. You meet the staff who will be with you over the coming days.
Your treatment plan is built — informed by the staff who have met you, reviewed your history, and listened to what you want recovery to look like. You begin participating in groups, individual sessions, and the daily rhythm of treatment. Family contact is established within the limits of what each patient agrees to share.
Addiction rarely shows up alone. Trauma, co-occurring mental health conditions, and the life around all three shape what recovery actually looks like.
Trauma is foundational to addiction in most patients we'll treat. Our clinical team is trained in trauma-informed care, and trauma-focused approaches sit alongside CBT and DBT — not as extras.
Anxiety, depression, PTSD, and bipolar disorder co-occur with SUD in most cases. We treat them together from intake as part of one coordinated plan.
Suboxone, Subutex, and Vivitrol — evidence-based medication for opioid use disorder, prescribed and monitored alongside counseling, letting clinical fit decide, not philosophy.
We use ASAM criteria to inform the right level of intensity for your clinical need, not what's convenient or what fills a bed.
